Then and Now:
J.D. Smith started racing 1997 in the MX2 class, and continued running that division for 3 years at select AMA and MRA Series Races. This season, he is running the full racing schedule at Delta Raceway in Delta, Ohio in the Ironman Series. So far J.D. has one win with the rest all top 3 finishes. He is the current points leader, and on track to win another championship this year. "There is a lot more racing to go, so with the help of great sponsors such as B'laster and the support of my friends and family, it will be another great season", proudly announced J.D.
Career Highlights:
2001, J.D. Smith moved up to the MX1 (big bike) class and ran the full CRA Series at Sandusky Speedway in Sandusky Ohio. He finished the season 2nd in points with 2 wins and multiple top 3 finishes. Just missing the championship by a few points
2002, J.D. Smith raced the same series and mirrored his results from 2001 finishing 2nd again.
2003 & 2004, J.D. Smith raced a few races with great results but was unable to race for a series championship
2005, Jack took off this season due to work
2006, J.D. Smith started racing full time again at MRA's Delta Raceway in Delta, Ohio. He raced in the Ironman Motocross GP Series on a 2006 Suzuki RMZ 450. This is an hour-long motocross race. He finished the season with 7 wins and never finished below 3rd place thus winning the championship by a big margin in the MX1 class
2007, J.D. Smith was not able to run a full schedule, however he again had good results with the few he did make
Latest News with J.D. Smith
July 13- J. D. Smith riding the "B'laster" sponsored #114 Suzuki wins again at Delta Motor Sports Park in Delta Ohio.
This win gives him a fifty six (56) point lead over the 2nd place rider.
A great "Ironman" feat!
July 22- J. D. Smith once again takes the checkered flag and trophy to win at Delta Raceway Park. He is now sixty-nine (69) points out in front of the second place rider!
