Cleveland, OH — Effective immediately William D. Matthews is the new President and CEO of Blaster Corporation, a major manufacturer of chemical products for the automotive, industrial and hardware markets.
As President and CEO, Matthews will be responsible for all national accounts, plant operations, new product development, and sales. The prior President and CEO, Thomas C. Porter, will now serve as the Chairman of the Board.
Matthews previously held the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating officer since 1997, and began with Blaster in 1992 as a National Sales Manager. During this period, Blaster sales increased at an average rate of 20% per year, despite fluctuations to the economy and the chemical industry. Matthews was instrumental in landing Blaster products in national retail and automotive chains such as Wal-Mart, AutoZone, Pep Boys, Ace, and TrueValue.
As a family owned, privately held company, Matthews is the only non-Porter to hold an equity position in Blaster. Matthews stated, "The Porter Family has given me an excellent opportunity to lead Blaster's growth. I'm confident we will continue to make strides in a positive direction with the excellent team of employees and products we offer."
Blaster Corporation is a manufacturer of high-performance specialty chemicals for the automotive, hardware and industrial markets. Blaster's most infamous product, PB Blaster, is the leading penetrant and lubricant on the market. Blaster products are found nationally in stores like Wal-Mart, Lowe's, Ace, AutoZone, Murray's and NAPA.
