First round NBA draft pick of the Phoenix Suns (1981)
Played for the Phoenix Suns from 1981 – 82 season until the midpoint of the 1987 – 88 season.
Played for the Cleveland Cavaliers from the midpoint of the 1987 – 88 season until his retirement at the end of the 1993 – 94 season
Won the first ever NBA Slam Dunk Contest in 1984
NBA all-star in 1985, 1989 and 1993
NBA all-time leader in field goal percentage in all-star games at 71.4%
Named to the NBA All-Defensive second team twice
Scored a total of 15,687 points in his NBA career and averaged 17.1 points per game
Had a total of 7,352 rebounds for his NBA career
Nance is the NBA all-time leading shot blocking forward with 2,027 blocked shots
On January 30, 1995, the Cleveland Cavaliers retired Nance's uniform #22, which now hangs from the rafters of Quicken Loan Arena.

Catch 22 Racing is a name derived from the basketball jersey number Larry Nance wore during his collegiate and NBA playing days

Larry Nance and Alzheimer's:
Personal experience with Alzheimer's -
Larry's mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 1996
Her condition progressed from misplacing items such as her keys, wallet and glasses to no longer recognizing family members and having no awareness of her surroundings
Larry's mother resides in the family home supported with hired 24-hour care
Larry and his uncle participate in their local Alzheimer's Association Chapter annual Memory Walk and bowl-a-thon. He is dedicated to increasing education, awareness and support for Alzheimer's, particularly among the African American community.
